The Ultimate Wedding Planning Checklist

Your wedding day is supposed to be the most magical day of your life. But if you’re the one Planning the Big Day, it can feel more like a daunting task than a dream come true. Luckily, we’re here to help! We’ve put together the ultimate wedding planning checklist, complete with timelines, tips, and inspiring ideas to help make your wedding planning process a breeze.

12 Months Before Your Wedding Day

Start by setting a budget and then begin looking for venues. This is also a good time to start thinking about your guest list. Once you have an estimate of how many people will be attending your wedding, you can begin booking your vendors. Start with your photographer, as they tend to book up well in advance. 9-12 months before your wedding is also a great time to start looking for your wedding dress!

6-9 Months Before Your Wedding Day

As you enter into the final stretch before your Big Day, it's time to buckle down and take care of all the little details. Send out your save-the-dates, book your officiant, finalize your menu, and pick out your bridesmaids' dresses. This is also the time to begin thinking about wedding favors, as well as any rentals you may need (think: chairs, linens, dishware).

3-6 Months Before Your Wedding Day

Now is the time to start thinking about the logistics of your big day. Begin working on your seating chart, confirm your honeymoon plans, and send out invitations. You should also start attending appointments for things like hair and makeup trials. This is also a good time to start thinking about music for your ceremony and reception.

1-3 Months Before Your Wedding Day

At this point in the planning process, it's all about tying up loose ends. Finalize details like flowers, transportation, and rehearsal dinner plans. You should also confirm with all of your vendors and plan for tipping (if you haven't already). Most importantly, don't forget to get a marriage license!

1 Month Before Your Wedding Day

This is it—you're in the home stretch! At this point in the process, all you should have left to do is enjoy yourself (and maybe do a little bit of last-minute shopping). Make sure you take some time to relax with family and friends in the weeks leading up to your wedding day. And on the big day itself? Just breathe—and enjoy every moment.

We know that planning a wedding can feel overwhelming at times. But with our comprehensive checklist by your side, we promise it’ll be a breeze! Just remember to take things one step at a time—and enjoy every minute of this special journey. Congrats!
